This Privacy Policy describes how Trade Scouter ("we," "us," "our"), operated by [operator / entity name], collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Trade Scouter service (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Category	Examples
Account	Email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), optional profile fields (name, address, gender, phone).
Broker connections	API keys/secrets or OAuth access tokens you provide to link a brokerage account, stored so the Service can act on your instructions — never your broker login password.
Trading activity	Positions, orders, closed-trade history, and settings you configure (risk %, watchlist, practice balance, etc.), private to your account — no other user can see or act on them.
Notification devices	If you turn on “Notifications on this device”, the browser's push address and encryption keys for that device, so alerts can be delivered. You can turn it off at any time, which removes them.
Identity verification status	A verification status and reference ID from our third-party KYC provider — never your underlying ID documents, selfie, or SSN.
Location	Country/city, if provided by your browser or entered by you, used to tailor which markets are shown first.
Technical	IP address and basic request logs, used for security and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate your account and the trading features you use.
• To route your instructions to a brokerage account you've connected.
• To send account-related communications (password resets, optional trade-idea alerts you opt into, support responses).
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who We Share Information With

• Your broker — only the account/order data needed to execute instructions you initiate, sent directly to the broker you connected.
• Identity verification provider — a licensed third-party KYC vendor, only if/when identity verification is required (e.g., before a real-money withdrawal).
• Communication providers — email (for password resets and notices) and, if you opt in, SMS, Telegram or device notifications, solely to deliver the messages you've requested. Device notifications are encrypted end to end and relayed by your browser vendor's push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft), which sees only that a message was delivered.
• AI provider (owner only) — if the account owner turns on the optional Advisor, the owner's own market and account snapshot is sent to Anthropic to write briefings. Other users' data is never included.
• Legal requirements — if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

4. Data Security

Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text); optional two-factor authentication (TOTP) is available. The database is not directly reachable from the public internet. All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and trading-history data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal or recordkeeping obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described below.

6. Your Choices and Rights

• You can review and update your profile information in Account settings at any time.
• You can disconnect a linked broker at any time.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at tradescouter@gmail.com.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. International Users

The Service is used by people in multiple countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in a country other than your own.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.

10. Cookies and Browser Storage

Essential (always on): a sign-in session cookie, an anti-forgery cookie that protects your account from forged requests, and a record of the cookie choice itself. The app also keeps an idle sign-out timer in your browser. These are needed to run the app securely, so they do not need your consent.

Optional (only with your permission): display choices such as text size, high contrast, Beginner or Pro view, and snoozed reminders. If you choose "Essential only", these are not saved.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Google sign-in and Stripe checkout set their own cookies when you use them; those are governed by their own policies.
